DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. — A Douglas County grand jury has indicted a Douglasville man on multiple felony charges after investigators say he sexually assaulted a teenage girl after providing her with alcohol and drug-laced gummies last summer.

Dexter Lee Fairley, 39, of Douglasville, was indicted Wednesday on charges of rape, child molestation, two counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor, possession of a controlled substance and violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, according to court records filed in Douglas County.

Authorities say the alleged incident occurred in July 2025 in Douglasville, when Fairley is accused of giving a 15-year-old girl alcohol and gummies that had been laced with drugs before forcing her to have sex.

Investigators say the allegations were later reported to law enforcement, prompting an investigation that led to the case being presented to a Douglas County grand jury, which returned the indictment this week.

Charges outlined in indictment

According to prosecutors, the indictment alleges that Fairley committed rape and child molestation against the teenager after providing intoxicating substances to the minor. The additional charges of furnishing alcohol to a minor and possession of a controlled substance stem from the substances investigators say were provided to the victim before the assault.

Under Georgia law, rape and child molestation are serious felony offenses that carry significant prison penalties if a defendant is convicted.

Case moves forward in Douglas County court

A grand jury indictment does not determine guilt but indicates prosecutors believe there is enough evidence for the case to proceed toward trial.

Fairley’s case will now move forward in Douglas County Superior Court, where future hearings and potential trial proceedings will be scheduled.

Authorities have not released additional details about the investigation or the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident, citing the sensitive nature of cases involving minors.

Law enforcement officials continue to urge anyone with information related to crimes involving minors to report it to police.
