BREMEN, Ga. — A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the killing of 19-year-old T.J. Ware, months after the fatal shooting at a Bremen motel that prompted a multistate search by law enforcement.
According to the Bremen Police Department, the suspect — known by the alias “Mook” — was taken into custody in Virginia by the U.S. Marshals Service. Authorities said the individual is currently being held while awaiting an extradition hearing before being transported back to Haralson County to face charges related to Ware’s death.
Ware was fatally shot June 17, 2025, inside a room at the Red Rose Inn in Bremen, a city located about 50 miles west of Atlanta. Investigators previously said Ware had rented a room at the motel and was meeting with three acquaintances before the shooting occurred.
Police have said the encounter turned violent, resulting in Ware’s death from gunfire. Two other individuals fled the scene and were later apprehended following a police chase that ended in nearby Villa Rica. Both suspects were treated for gunshot wounds before being taken into custody and charged in the case.
The third suspect, whose identity has not been publicly released, had been sought by investigators since shortly after the shooting. Bremen Police Chief Keith Pesnell previously said authorities identified the suspect by the nickname “Mook” and had been working with local, state and federal partners to locate him.
Officials said the arrest marks a significant development in the investigation, which has drawn attention in the small West Georgia community. Law enforcement agencies across multiple jurisdictions assisted in the search for the suspect over several months.
Authorities have not publicly disclosed a motive in the killing. Investigators previously said the individuals involved were believed to be acquaintances of Ware and that gang involvement had not been confirmed.
With the third suspect now in custody, Bremen police say the case continues to move through the judicial process as prosecutors prepare for the suspect’s return to Georgia.
Anyone with additional information about the case is encouraged to contact the Bremen Police Department.
