Bowdon High School Girls and Boys Basketball Teams Advance to Elite 8 in Class A Division II State Tournament

BOWDON, Ga. — Both the girls and boys varsity basketball teams at Bowdon High School are headed to the Elite 8 after securing wins Saturday in the Class A Division II state tournament.

The victories move Bowdon into the quarterfinal round of the Georgia High School Association playoffs, placing both programs among the final eight teams remaining in their respective brackets statewide.

Saturday’s wins came in state playoff competition under the Georgia High School Association Class A Division II tournament. With the advancement, Bowdon will now compete for a spot in the Final Four later this week.

The Elite 8 appearance marks a significant milestone for the Carroll County school, highlighting the strength of both programs during postseason play. Advancing to this stage requires multiple playoff wins against top-ranked teams from across Georgia.

Community members, students and families gathered in support of the Red Devils as both teams extended their seasons. School officials said the dual advancement reflects the depth of talent across the athletic program and sustained commitment from players and coaching staff.
