DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. — The City of Douglasville and Douglas County officials are preparing to honor one of the community’s most accomplished athletes with a hometown celebration recognizing Olympic gold medalist Elana Meyers Taylor.
The celebration is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, at the Douglasville Town Green, where residents, local leaders and supporters will gather to recognize Meyers Taylor’s achievements at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina, Italy.
Meyers Taylor, a Douglasville native and one of the most decorated athletes in U.S. bobsledding history, recently captured Olympic gold at the Milan Cortina Games, adding to a career that has already included multiple Olympic medals and world championship titles.
